Imi Hwangbo was awarded an artist residency at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts for the summer of 2026. The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts is an international artist residency program in the foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts is one of the largest year-round residency programs in the US, and has served more than 6,000 writers, visual artists, and composers since its founding. Since 2004, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts has also offered workshops and retreats at its studio center Le Moulin à Nef in Southwest France.
